Tax Assessment - Everything You Need to Know
When Will I Receive My Tax Assessment?
The Norwegian Tax Administration began issuing tax assessments for sole proprietorships in March and will continue sending them out throughout the summer and autumn, until 1 December. Tax assessments for all private limited companies and other entities will be issued between August and December. All entities will have received their tax assessment no later than 1 December.
Azets Can Help You With Your Tax Assessment
Azets reviews the tax assessments for all our clients. If you do not wish us to do this for your company, please let us know as soon as possible. We automatically retrieve tax assessments from Altinn for entities where we are registered as the authorised accountant. If we are not registered for your company, we kindly ask you to forward the assessment to us.
What are the Most Important Deadlines for the Tax Assessment?
The deadline for appealing a tax assessment is six weeks from the date it is published. As this date varies by entity, the appeal deadline will also differ. Appeals must be submitted digitally via Altinn. We are available to assist you with any appeal, as well as communication with the relevant authorities.
Please note that any underpaid tax must be paid on time, even if the assessment is under appeal.
Tax Assessment Deadlines for Settlement of Underpaid Tax:
- Sole proprietorships:
- If the tax assessment is received in June or earlier, the first instalment is due 20 August and the second on 24 September.
- If the tax assessment is received in August or later, the first instalment is due three weeks after the assessment date, and the second eight weeks after the assessment date.
- Companies:
- Three weeks after the assessment date.
